Troubled country singer Mindy McCready was admitted to Cape Coral Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. Tuesday morning, her attorney confirmed in a statement.
"The family asks for your respect of their privacy and appreciates your thoughts and prayers at this time," the statement said.

The reason she was admitted was not given, but according to TMZ, her rep denied she had overdosed on drugs, and said instead her mother "overreacted" when McCready had a bad reaction to pain medication.
McCready has been hospitalized several times in the past. In 2005, she was hospitalized twice after twice attempting suicide, once while she was pregnant.

McCready, once one of the biggest stars in country music, has been in the comeback trail this year promoting her album "I'm Still Here."
